SoundCity App

SoundCity is the first instance of Sense2Health app dedicated to noise pollution awareness. While monitoring noise through microphones hosted on smartphones, the application provides users with direct insights into their exposure to noise through hourly, daily, and monthly noise graphs in addition to health information provided by bio-sensors that detect heart rate values and enable the application to compute stress levels.

The application exploits such measurements to correlate between stress levels and noise exposure and enable users to have a better understanding of the repercussions of living in unhealthy environments thus motivating them to partake not only in sensing tasks but also in modifying their daily activities with the goal to enhance their quality of life by decreasing urban pollution.

SoundCity was launched with the City of Paris smart city initiative and Bernard Jomier, deputy mayor responsible for health, disability, and relations with Paris public hospital system on July 8, 2015.
